nola randomalia

its been a lovely monday.

we arrived in nola yesterday and settled into a lovely evening of chatter with die_electric and la_mitraillette. their spawn is irresistible and thus far has been very kind to us by not wielding the colic like the mighty hammer of thor 🙂

we went out to the dervish once our hosts were winding down, and it was lovely to see bridgegirl, meet her charming boy, chatter with wronginthehead and surprise lamiae13. the music was great, the company was great and we even managed to wear ourselves out before it got too late!

it looks like we will be kicking it at mojo’s after dinner on wed, playing scrabble and generally being social if anyone wants to stalk see us!

since my workweek will be light, i have planned a fun menu for the week, including:
– coconut thai soup with crawfish and shrimp
– sesame-crusted seared tuna with quinoa primavera
– sauteed chicken with a mango & red onion chutney over forbidden black rice

i’ll let you know how they turn out 😉

zephyr seems to think he has won the lottery since we left the kittens in austin. his purr is enormous and he has returned to his obnoxious former level of lovemoose. poor guy is going to be crushed when we go back to austin and he realizes his brothers are still part of the family!

the only frustrating note is that the oak is fucking so wildly here that i get a little dizzy when i spend more than a few minutes outside. my head does not thank me for the sploogefest, even with the drugs.
