my little orangeman

ponce-a-lot came home yesterday with an owey on his tail and was very very sensitive about us touching it. with my sister (conveniently) in residence, we were able to get his temp, which was a bit higher than normal and after a heartwrenching struggle, we cut away some of the hair and took a gander at what appeared to be a puncture wound.

to be on the safe side, i our vet in the morning to see if i should bring him in and they said to come in as a walk-in sometime today.

i will pause here to tell you i love my vet here – the brykerwood clinic over on 35th. they have multiple vets, they always have time to see us and everyone i have dealt with has been super.

today was no exception – i was in and out in as much time as it takes when i have an appointment and they were totally booked today.

poor ponce has a nasty bruise on the underside of his tail, puncture wounds and scrapes on top and bottom. who knows what got ahold of him, but he was glad for the pain killer and we are glad for the antibiotics 🙂

i have to say, i love taking my kitten places. he rode in the car in my lap, talked to me the whole way and when we got to the vet, i put him on his leash instead of in a carrier. he explored, said hello to people and generally was his charming orange-cat self.
