oh mii, oh my

those of you who really, truly know me will find yourselves completely shocked by this next statement:

i spent the majority of the weekend hanging out with d’s college roommate and his family, playing wii fit and wii sports.

yes, friends, *i* played video games.

never, ever (ever), even growing up with geeks in the video game generation, have i played a video game, much less a weekend of them.

the brief taste of intrigue and awe i felt at el_diavalo‘s when i experienced seeing my center of gravity in yoga poses was fully explored with advanced hula hoop games, slaloms, ski jumps, balance games, and then escalated to jovial games of (wait for it) *bowling* and *golf*.

and it was all way too much fun.

any game that can make BOWLING AND GOLF fun has to be a device sent by aliens to distract and subvert our race so that we are ready to docilely accept the invasion.

i want one 🙂

  1. Wii boxing is a lot of fun, too. I’m still tempted to get one, but I don’t have a very big living room. Although, I’m also contemplating getting a DDR pad for my Xbox.

  3. I firmly believe the wii needs another category other than “video game.” It’s so much fun to play! I totally agree (even though I’m horrible at most games it’s still super fun). I had to play DDR on the “special intro level for people with no rhythm.”
