mac improvement

ever since getting my mac, i have felt only tepid about the change.

my biggest gripe was that i had this BEAST of a powerful machine, but i still had issues with crashing and other system-crawly-overload things.

my research told me it was because all my primary apps – photoshop, illustrator, flash, dreamweaver – had not yet been optimized for mac’s nifty intel chips.

what did that mean?

those apps had to be run through a 3rd party software to work on intel macs.

can you say “Performance Nightmare”? go ahead…scream it. i did.

it had become a bigger and bigger problem as my projects were requiring mega-multitasking between photoshop and illustrator – with big files to boot.

finally, last week, i thought to check when the new versions that were supposed to fix this problem were coming out.

lo and behold, they arrived this spring while i was traveling.

torrent goodness has yielded a lovely copy of CS3 for mac and the difference is amazing.

*NOW* my mac exceeds my PC’s performance.

*NOW* i feel like i might have spent my money wisely.

i’m not convinced yet, but the simple fact that i can operate without crashing at a pivotal moment makes me less likely to want to throw my pricey toy out the window.

please mac, satisfy me. make me adore you like no other.
