that wacky island living

yesterday, the local weather report showed me pictures of fluffy white stuff blanketing everywhere from seattle down to olympia.

no, not just the southern dusting, but a pretty substantial amount that was going to continue last night and into today – and the weather report rubbed it in just a little more by writing on their monday weather block “miserable commute” (how mean is that?)

us? no snow. i suppose when we had afternoon rain showers, everyone else got the white stuff.

today, in theory, there may be snow. but maybe my little buffer of the Sound means i never really get any of it.

i started to complain that i wanted the pretty white stuff, but david assured me i did not.

he is probably right, which i only find annoying at the moment. however, when i have to go to the store later today, i suspect i will see the wisdom in his stance.

  1. Snow is pretty and fun until you have to deal with it on a regular basis. You’re lucky enough to be able to work in the house- if you’re like me and have to commute 45 minutes each way- not so much fun. Just make sure the tires on the Suburban have lots of good tread. Last year I watched someone drive one at a 20-degree angle to oncoming traffic up a hill because he couldn’t keep the rear end stable.

But I think you’d like ice skating.
