"One can never consent to creep when one feels
an impulse to soar."
the time arrived to do it again.
the sun in the center of my back was a very spontaneous choice...no real
thought went into its initial conception. there was no deliberation over
what...where...when. there was just a why.
it was the beginning of a new life.
and those of you who visit belen.net see this inky imprint from my body
throughout the site. this is because, without ever intending it, this
became so much of a symbol to me.
it has become strength...warmth...life. it represents the balance i am
slowly finding...the light i couldn't find in my past.
to my friends in austin, it was an integral part of the fabric of my
being...they had never known me without it.
as i made plans to leave austin, i knew that i wanted to imprint the
next life change...but carefully...with thought. the last change was stumbling
into a new, beautiful, unexpected life. this change was born of knowledge,
desire and strength. and i wanted this ink to reflect that.
6 months of careful thought...and i have new ink. i placed it on the
back of my neck, so it communes with my sun, always behind me, urging
me forward.
the
moon is to remind me of cycles...good follows bad follows good...there
is balance in this. the great joy and immense pain of the last 3 years
keeps me anchored. the tides come and go...and i am always still here.
4 celtic runes, to remind me of why i am choosing this new path...what
i want to learn from my life...what is important to me:
KENO aka Kenaz - An Opening
One's knowledge and capabilities, vision and guidance.
When you are in the darkness, an opening with light is the best and most
gracious thing to have bestowed upon you. This is a great time for putting
energies into new opportunities. Meditation revolves around seeing out
of seemingly dark situations for there is a way out of every situation.
Focus on what the action is and invest energies into breaking through.
MANNAZ - The Nature of Humankind (The Self)
The mind and intellectual objectivity.
The self and its place in the collective conscience of humanity is the
recognition here. We are all part of each other, made of the same things,
subject to similar experiences. This is a time of personal reflection,
of what it is all about and what one person can really do for the community.
Also, acknowledgment of the importance of every one self to the greater
many.
WUNJO - Bliss and Glory
Your potential for enjoyment and her/his chances of being successful.
This can mean a lot of aspects of joy, but mainly it is the lack of need
and lack of pain. It is the realization of what you have worked for and
the temporary enjoyment of all your goods. Being in this mind frame sometimes
induces a separate state of mind. It is a good meditation to realize where
you are now and what you have and being satisfied to the point of bliss.
Preparation for meditation is not needed when a tough task is completed.
RAIDO - Journeys
You ability to relate and connect; the amount of control you feel you
can exert on your life.
There was always a time when a far traveled journey must be taken. Sometimes
it is a spiritual journey and sometimes it is physical. Anxiety is always
a factor, some positive and some negative. Journeys are a type of calling
for a learning. Meditate on what is the right time and method of your
particular journey. Identify if the higher forces are telling you that
it is time to learn away from your home base. Most journeys are favorable
in retrospect.
so perhaps you see a little better what i see in leaving austin, what
i am carrying away from this place into new ones. this ink is the culmination
of everyone who has touched me here and what they have taught me about
myself.
thank you...you make beautiful imprints...
